University Education at Pakistan as Compared to USA

The education system of a country as they say is what links the development of a country with success and growth. Most people believe that the education children get at school is what has most of the impact on their personalities and mindsets; well I disagree. As far as my understanding regarding this subject is concerned the education system of universities, is what really decides the future and mindset of an individual.

When talking about the education system of two different countries of the world, Pakistan and USA, Pakistani education system with a sigh is no doubt lacking a list of opportunities you can avail through the                                 university system of USA. This statement

is not implying that Pakistani students or the education provided at Pakistani’s universities are any less worthy but as the facts say, USA is the house of world’s top most universities, or all the top universities of the world.

We are not going to miss the fact sheet when talking about Pakistan as well. Pakistan as well owns globally recognized universities that are without any doubt providing education and training as good as any other university of USA; but is it as good as Harvard? Or Massachusetts? The answer is no, which leaves us in a chaos of believing that the level of education system and variety of fields offered by USA university system are unfortunately not available at that level in Pakistan.

It is not basically the university system which lacks behind, it is the number of internationally recognize universities in Pakistan. The problem with the university level as well as primary and secondary level of education at Pakistan is the two diverse nature of education provided with different priorities. Where the most recognized universities put their focus on “building personalities” the small and less famous universities have their focus on allocating as much student as they can with most focus on simply teaching the syllabus with minimum grooming. The result is, students from famous universities have good education with personality built ready to tackle the practical aspects of life while students from small universities have amazing education skills but are less groomed to survive in an evolutionary international world.

In USA, whatever the university be the focus of teaching is mainly to train students and groom them enough to use their learning’s practically well in future. Whereas in Pakistan less exposure is given to the importance of personality building which leaves students with equally amazing skills lack behind in practical approach.

Next is the difference of teaching styles and the teachers’ of course. The teachers are respectful personalities one must always recognize for the efforts they put in educating generations. However, they can be rated as per their qualifications. In Pakistani university systems, the teachers and counselors from internationally recognized universities as well as certificated are mostly available at the best listed universities. The universities with lower ranks unfortunately get their teaching from the teachers from local institutes with less experience which automatically makes all the difference.

To be a teacher in USA, there are rules. You don’t just have to be qualified for the position but you have to pass the tests set by the government itself to match yourself for the position. There are unfortunately no such rules in Pakistan.

Other than these factors, the environment and social behavior of students has a lot of difference. There are rules for behavior and an environment set by the institute and education system of USA which cannot be compromised. While in Pakistan, chances are that the small universities with low recognition have a different less serious environment which again triggers with the personalities and mindsets of the students. 

Moreover, a University is internationally recognized when it gets international students. More than sixty thousand students every year get enrolled in different universities of USA. In Pakistan unfortunately, the amount is not even comparable.
Conclusion:
However, with all these facts Pakistani education system is growing and improvising. Students have no started to encourage their education system over USA’s education system which hopefully is going to lead somewhere positive. With hope and prayers there is wait that the Pakistani universities will be as recognized and as competent as any university of USA.
