Government can overcome this energy crisis by constructing more dams and by managing economy properly. Apart from constructing dams, there are also other forms of power generation like wind and coal. Exploitation of thermal and hydel power plants must be stopped by the government. Solar energy panels must be constructed by the government since Baluchistan has a lot of solar potential. Solar energy usage in Pakistan must be increased.

There must be proper re-organization and re-structuring of power generation sector in Pakistan. Also there must be some proper planning regarding the power distribution systems of Pakistan. A three way strategy would save lot of money and improve power sector infrastructure in Pakistan. Power generation sector must be restructured. There must be more investments in nuclear, hydel and coal energy sectors. The government should consider high priority for importing electricity from neighboring countries. Some of the power shortfall can be helped this way. The government shall work on converting idle capacity in thermal sector to coal based plants to bring down national cost. Large public sector oil based plants must be converted to coal based plants to have more efficiency.

In the long run, the government must not open up oil based power plants and should more focus on hydel, nuclear and coal based resources to overcome power shortage. Pakistan is blessed with many natural resources. Most of the resources are either underutilized or idle. Baluchistan happens to have rich underground natural resources and government must focus on using and exploring these natural resources. Also there must be some measures taken by government to stop illegal electric supply to homes and offices. Power sector needs reforms on every level. Also, public can contribute towards energy saving by using energy savers and tube lights, instead of heavy lights at homes.
